Medallion Gown

The Medallion Gown is based on a design by Erté that uses a single rectangle of fabric wrapped around the body. Working with patterns is usually a process of taking a rectangle of fabric and cutting it into shapes that will fit the body. The concept of using a rectangle of fabric and not altering its shape is a wonderful design challenge.

The patterns for The Medallion Gown fit the Tyler, Alex, and Gene/Madra fashion dolls. No alterations to the patterns are necessary. Illustrated step-by-step instructions describe how to make the gown, create the open bead work medallion, and dress the doll.
