About PDF Downloads

PDF is a name applied to files that can be displayed and printed by the free Adobe Acrobat reader. Some of the advantages of using the PDF Download Patterns are indicated below.

• There is no waiting for the patterns to be delivered.
  After you have submitted payment, you may download the patterns from the Shopping Cart's Order Confirmation Page or Order Confirmation Email.
  ( Patterns ordered using PayPal are sent after the payment has cleared. )
• Print additional copies of the patterns as needed.
  You can store the downloaded patterns on your computer and print them as required.
• If you do not have a printer, many copy shops can copy from PDF Files such as FedEx Kinko's
• There is no shipping charge or sales tax applied to PDF Download Patterns.
• You may print PDF Download Patterns on 8-1/2" x 11" or A4 paper.
• Adobe Acrobat Reader is available for a variety of computers and operating systems.

Printing Patterns from PDF Files

The Adobe Acrobat Reader print function can be set to shrink or expand pages. This will cause patterns to be printed incorrectly. The phrasing of this function depends on the version of Acrobat that you are using. Specific instructions are included with each of my PDF patterns and are also available in the PDF Test File which you may download below. To verify the patterns are printed the correct size, each of my pattern pages includes a blue box around the margins that is exactly 8" x 10" (20.3cm x 25.4cm).

Another problem you may encounter with some computer/printer combinations is that additional characters may be printed. These characters do not appear when the pages are displayed. When this happens, use the "Print as image" function. Download the PDF Test File to see the checkbox for this feature.

The PDF Test File includes the specific printing instructions included with each of my patterns. It also includes the instructions for installing a hidden zipper in the Morning Glory gown and the blue box I use to verify that patterns are being printed to the correct size.
